It helps those who work within the London Borough of Southwark to be successful at changing the lives of people affected by excess weight.

In the UK, more than 6 in 10 adults' BMI is in the overweight or obese category: London and England averages are 38.1% and 34.2% respectively.

Southwark has some of the highest rates of obesity in the country: 58.8% of all adults and 43% of children in year 6 are classified as being overweight or obese.

However fewer than 0.1% of the frontline health professionals in the UK have had any specialist training in obesity.

Southwark Healthy Weight Training is completely free, fully online and has CPD points attached on completion.
