Sloppy Slippers campaign for older people aged 60+

10/04/2019

Age UK Lewisham & Southwark are delighted to be piloting a 'Sloppy Slippers' Campaign.

Falls resulted in 2,344 older people aged 65 and over having had an emergency hospital admission in Southwark last year.

With old, misshapen, unsupportive slippers proven to be a contributor to falls, this project aims to encourage older people, in particular those prone to falls and at higher risk of falls, to trade in their existing slippers for new, free, sturdy and supportive ones.

If you or your teams are supporting an older person, living in Southwark, aged 60+ who has recently experienced a fall or near miss(es), please send a referral using the form attached to sail@ageuklands.org.uk and arrangements will be made for them to receive a pair of slippers.
