Join Healthwatch Southwark and Southwark LGBT Network borough consultation 2018
Healthwatch Southwark is partnering with the Southwark LGBT Network to deliver a borough wide survey on The needs of the LGBTQ+ community in Southwark, and hope to share the findings with you in January 2019.
This is the first major LGBTQ+ survey of its kind in Southwark.
As a very important and populous group in the borough, we want to ensure that the needs of seldom heard communities in the borough are fully realised.
The results will be used to hold services to account concerning local needs, and help us create priority areas of work. We want to ensure that your voices are heard by local services to create a better Southwark for you to live in.
We want to know what life is like for LGBTQ+ people living in Southwark especially around health. That's why we've organised this survey. It includes questions that we think are relevant to LGBTQ+ people and that will help us better understand local needs.
To answer this survey, you must be:
- Aged 16 or over; and
- Live in Southwark.
This survey asked questions about:
- Your personal experiences in the borough;
- Where you socialise;
- Health and social care needs; and
- Whether other protected characteristic affected your experience as an LGBTQ+ individual. E.g. ethnicity or disability
Your thought and opinions are very important to us; without them, we will be unable to create true change in the borough.
The consultation period is from beginning of July 2018 till the end of September 2018

The Southwark LGBT Network was set up in 2002 to enable the LGBT community in Southwark to respond to the needs of their communities. The network is established particularly for the benefit of lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans people in need in Southwark, to preserve and protect health, relieve poverty and distress and to educate the wider community of these issues as they affect the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ+) community.
