Across Mental Health Awareness Week, we'll be highlighting some unique organisations and individuals championing positive body image and mental wellbeing.
You'll also get a look into the work Healthwatch Southwark has been doing around mental health, and thoughts of existing programmes from Southwark residents themselves.
How can we stop social media undermining our mental health?
Self-acceptance and self-esteem are crucial for good mental health.
Comparing ourselves to others, be it online or offline, can undermine these things, giving rise to feelings of inadequacy.

Healthwatch Southwark's Social Prescribing Survey
We want to hear from people who have been given advice by their GP, or another health or care worker, to join in community activities.
We'd also like to hear from people with health conditions/disabilities who have not received this kind of help.

Kooth - Free, safe and anonymous online support for young people
Kooth, is a new online counselling service for children and young people aged 11-19 access to free, anonymous mental health and emotional well-being support.
On Kooth they can:
- Chat to friendly counsellors
- Read articles written by young people
- Get support from the Kooth community
- Write in a daily journal
There are many organisations and local charities offering fantastic support for people experiencing mental health issues. See a few listed here...
